Meatopia, the renowned London food festival, comes to Scotland for the first time featuring top global chefs and live fire-cooking! Coming to Glasgow’s SWG3 from 6-8th June 2025.

Food lovers are sure to be fired up when one of the UK’s top food festivals comes to Scotland for the first time.

Meatopia, taking place at SWG3 in Glasgow, will showcase renowned chefs from around the world, along with local culinary talents, crafting unique dishes over open flames, as well as drinks and live music.

For the past 12 years, some of the biggest names in cooking – including household names like Yotam Ottolenghi, the pioneer of “nose-to-tail” dining Fergus Henderson, and Scotland’s youngest Michelin-starred chef, Sam Yorke of Heron – have gathered at Tobacco Dock in London to cook to their hearts’ content, using nothing but sustainable wood, charcoal, and responsibly sourced, quality meat, fish, and vegetables.

Over the course of the year, chefs hold multiple tasting sessions, refining each dish before unveiling their creations to the public during the festival.

Meatopia, which is built around sustainability, top-quality ingredients, and unforgettable flavours, was founded in the US by the late American writer Josh Ozersky. The concept was brought to the UK in 2013 by Mat Kemp, Richard Turner and James George, and a marker was firmly placed in London’s culinary calendar.

Last year’s event celebrated 10 years of Meatopia, welcoming over 100 renowned chefs and 16,000 visitors. Previous lineups have included chefs such as former Pujol and El Bulli chef Adriana Cavita, and “The Professor” of BBQ, six-time pit-master Tuffy Stone.

A limited run of early bird tickets (starting at £10) are now available for Meatopia Glasgow, which will take place at SWG3 from 6-8 June 2025.

EAT 🔪

Each year the world’s best live-fire chefs cooked exclusive dishes over each of the Meatopia weekends, using nothing but sustainable wood and charcoal and responsibly-sourced, quality ingredients — that means meat, fish and veg. Our alumni of chefs include Francis Mallmann, Niklas Ekstedt, Amninder Sandhu, Yotam Ottolenghi, Dave Pynt, Aaron Franklin, Fergus Henderson, Bryan Furman, and Lennox Hastie.

DRINK 🍻

All that smokey, flavour-filled food is thirsty work. Luckily for you, Meatopia has a mind-boggling array of quenching beverages on offer. Think sinking a few sundowners in the yard, all manner of spirits, cocktails and liquid delights are on offer.

FIRE 🔥

The finest, most sustainably sourced wood and charcoal is the star of the show at Meatopia, so gather around the fire and let your inner cave-person be mesmerised by it. From simple grills to imposing smokers and roaring fire-pits, every method of fire cooking imaginable is on show at Meatopia, and at the helm of the flames are some of the world’s most skilled chefs.

MUSIC 🎺

Live musicians, roaming brass bands, DJs and soulful singers can be found in every corner of the festival, and a crowd to go with them. We’ve had everyone from infamous party-starters New York Brass Band to legendary last-man-standing Bez of the Happy Mondays play to our punters, keeping the good vibes going through day and night.
