Pantera are a revered heavy metal band from Texas, known for furious energy unrelenting riffs and deep grooves. Coming to Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 18th February 2025.

The groove metal pioneers announce their first UK headline tour in over 20 years

Formed by the late Abbot brothers – Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul – longtime members vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown continue Pantera’s legacy today.

Despite releasing glam metal albums in the 1980s, most consider 1990’s Cowboys from Hell to be the start of Pantera as we know them. Including tracks such as ‘Cemetary Gates’ and ‘The Sleep’, the album pioneered the groove metal sound that would inform genres such as nu-metal later on.

Other popular releases include 1992’s Vulgar Display of Power, which featured the hits ‘Mouth for War’ and ‘Walk’, and 1994’s platinum-certified Far Beyond Driven, Pantera’s fastest-selling album.

In June 2024, the same month the band headline Download’s Opus Stage in their first UK appearance in 20 years, Pantera announced a UK arena tour for February 2025.
