Iain Stirling is the smart-talking comedian and Love Island narrator who has announced a new tour Relevant for 2024. Coming to Glasgow’s King’s Theatre on 3rd April 2023.

The BAFTA-winning comedian, “national sensation” (Evening Standard) and “extremely funny” (Daily Telegraph) Iain Stirling is bringing his intuitive razor-sharp humour back on tour with a brand new stand-up show for 2024.

As the inimitable voice of Love Island, star and writer of sitcom Buffering on ITV, and with his own stand-up special, Failing Upwards, on Prime Video, Iain hits the road once more with a brand new hour (of jokes) in his biggest tour to date! (It’s called RELEVANT if you’re interested).

Always ready with a hilarious one-liner, Iain Stirling is used to grabbing people’s attention. Born in Scotland, he studied law at Edinburgh University and during his final year started dabbling in stand-up comedy.

In 2008, Stirling landed a spot in the finals for the Scottish Comedian Of The Year competition. The following year, he entered the Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year contest at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and finished as the runner-up to winner Joe Lycett.

Stirling scored his first TV spot in 2010 in the CBBC children’s television programme Scoop. He then went on to present the CBBC channel alongside puppet sidekick Hacker T. Dog as well as to front several CBBC shows including Help! My Supply Teacher’s MagicAll Over the Place and 12 Again, a series in which celebrities talk about what they were like when they were 12 years old.

Cutting his chops on the comedy circuit

Throughout that time, Stirling was also cutting his chops on the comedy circuit – not only performing in clubs across the country, but supporting other comedians on tour like Russell Kane.

In 2012, he appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News Extra. Stirling began working on The Dog Ate My Homework in 2014 and remained with the children’s panel show for five years. After receiving several Children’s BAFTA nominations for best presenter, he finally scooped the award in 2016.

Since 2015, Stirling has served as the voice of Love Island, becoming famous for his sassy comments and scathing quips. In between his time in the villa, he’s done stints on radio, recorded podcasts, appeared on panel shows like Taskmaster and The Russell Howard Show, and hosted the hit comedy game show Iain Stirling’s CelebAbility.

In 2018, Stirling published the book Not Ready To Adult Yet: A Totally Ill-informed Guide To Life as well as embarked on the sell-out comedy tour U OK HUN? X.

Stirling married Irish presenter Laura Whitmore known from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Now! as well as Love Island and its spinoff in 2020.

In 2021, he announced his ITV millennial coming-of-age comedy Buffering – written with Steve Bugeja and featuring himself alongside comedians Jessie Cave, Janine Harouni, Elena Saurel and many more – would premiere. Stirling also confirmed rescheduled dates for his biggest comedy tour yet, Failing Upwards, for autumn 2021 through April 2022.
