James Martin is the renowned celebrity chef and TV presenter, he is back with his latest tour. Coming to Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo on 8th March 2025.

Born in 1972 in North Yorkshire, James Martin is a celebrity chef and popular TV presenter. His passion for cooking began at a young age when his father became the catering manager at York’s Castle Howard. Trips to France as a teenager also fanned the flames of Martin’s appreciation for fine food and wine.

In 1988 he began catering training at Scarborough Technical College, where he was named Student of the Year for three years in a row. After moving to London in 1991, Martin found himself working in some of the city’s top kitchens including One Ninety Queen’s Gate, Alastair Little in Soho and Harvey’s in Wandsworth. He also landed coveted positions as a junior pastry chef at Chewton Glen in 1993 and head chef at Hotel Du Vin in 1994.

Martin first began his TV career in 1996 with Sky One and then went over to BBC’s Ready Steady Cook and The Big Breakfast. Today he is best known as the former host of BBC’s popular cooking show Saturday Kitchen. Since moving to ITV in 2016, he has presented James Martin’s American AdventureSaturday Morning With James Martin and James Martin’s French Adventure.

In October 2020, Martin held his first-ever livestream cookery masterclass. During the 90-minute interactive experience, he taught participants how to prepare a mouth-watering three-course meal while sharing tips, tricks and skills.

In May 2021, he announced his James Martin Live tour, a true gastronomic experienced complete with cooking demonstrations and special guests, for March and April 2022. Off the back of that sell-out tour, Martin confirmed he would be heading back on the road in 2023 visiting 20 towns and cities to entertain audiences with live demonstrations and cooking tasks.
