Overmono are the acclaimed electronic duo founded by brothers Tom and Ed Russell. Coming to Glasgow’s GWG3 on 13th October 2023.

Overmono is a Welsh electronic music duo formed by brothers Tom Russell (Truss) and Ed Russell (Tessela).

Truss and Tessela first made waves individually with their solo productions. Truss, known for his deep techno and bass-driven sound. Gained recognition with releases on renowned labels such as Perc Trax and R&S Records. Meanwhile, Tessela’s unique 90s-influenced rave and post-dubstep also caught the attention of the industry. Resulting in releases on labels such as Poly Kicks and R&S Records.

In 2016, the brothers decided to combine their talents. Decamping to a cottage in Devon to collaborate on their first material as Overmono. The duo’s early releases showcased their ability to seamlessly blend diverse genres. With tracks such as ‘Lockner Union’ and ‘Powder Dry’ receiving critical acclaim.

Overmono released their debut EP Arla in 2016, followed closely by Arla II on XL the following year, blending together classic rave, techno and trance. As the duo’s popularity grew, their club-ready sound – mixing downbeat vocal samples and tense beats – became omnipresent in the electronic music scene. Over time, Overmono also gained a reputation for their immersive live shows, incorporating captivating visuals and lighting.

Over the following years, Overmono released a string of successful EPs and singles on labels Poly Kicks, Fabric and XL and collaborated with a host of producers including Joy Orbison and Nathan Micay. ‘So U Kno’, the B-side to their ‘BMW Track’ single, was named song of the year by Resident Advisor in 2021. Their long-awaited debut album Good Lies arrived on XL in 2023.
