Palaye Royale are the eminently fashionable Las Vegas art rockers. Coming to Glasgow’s Barrowland on 8th February 2023.
Sin City art rock trio Palaye Royale truly know the meaning of DIY. This isn’t your standard DIY fare though. With the band’s self-reliance also comes staggering ambition. Which is the only way to explain 20 million views on YouTube. Not to mention a Samsung TV campaign before even signing a record deal.
Palaye Royale came together in 2011. Formed by three brothers: vocalist Remington Leith, guitarist Sebastian Danzig and drummer Emerson Barrett. (Their last names are actually their middle names and their real last name is Kropp). With help from their tendency towards melodrama, a distinctively fashionable image and a sound that mixed slick pop with biting guitars, their debut single Morning Light was an instant success, amassing a considerable fanbase right off the bat. Their second single Get Higher followed suit, taking the band onto the global stage via its presence in a Samsung ad.
The band’s self-released their debut EP, The Ends Beginning, in 2013 before signing with Sumerian Records for their debut album Boom Boom Room (Side A), released in 2016. The first of a two-album set, it was followed in 2018 by Boom Boom Room (Side B).
Their second album, The Bastards, was recorded with Matt Pauling (State Champs, 5 Seconds Of Summer) and Chris Greatti (Yungblud, Poppy) and released in 2020. The band’s ensuing tour was curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic. In June 2021, Palaye Royale confirmed a UK tour for March 2022.
