The Vamps have announced an extra date in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena and will play on the 8th and 9th of April 2016!

The Vamps are back with a brand new single, a forthcoming album and a world tour. The British four piece have announced the release of their new single and album, both called Wake Up.

The foursome will headline 14 gigs across the UK and Ireland – kicking off in Birmingham on March 25th and ending in Manchester on April 17th, with two nights in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena on the 8th and 9th of April 2016.

The Wake Up UK Tour will feature jumbo LED side screens, plenty of ramps so the fans can be close to the band, and support from The Tide and Hometown.

The British pop band consists of Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals). They first gained fame in late 2012 with cover songs uploaded to YouTube, and were quickly signed by Mercury Records in the same year.

In 2013 the band supported McFly on their Memory Lane Tour, and performed at several festival-style events around the UK as support acts for bands such as the Wanted, JLS, Little Mix, Lawson and Demi Lovato.

A combination of McFly and One Direction, The Vamps released their first single, ‘Can We Dance’ in September 2013, which reached no. 2 in the UK singles charts. They have scored huge success in their short career so far, having scored two Top Ten singles with their next releases, ‘Wild Heart’, ‘Late Night’, ‘Somebody To You’ and ‘Oh Cecelia (Breaking My Heart)’.

The band’s debut album ‘Meet the Vamps’ was released in April 2014, and peaked at no. 2 in the UK album charts. They also beat the likes of Sam Smith and Banks to be named MTV’s Brand New for 2014 with their floppy haircuts and twanging guitars.

The tour will begin at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on March 25th and The Vamps will play in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena on the 8th and 9th of April 2016. Make sure you get your tickets soon!
